It is truly unusual for me to have time alone in our house, but tonight is one of those unusual nights. So what has kept us busy this last week...
Kenzie finished up her driver's education course this week, so all that's left is the wait until the 15th birthday and she can get her learners permit and begin driving. She's pretty excited about being the first of her friends to be able to do this with having an early in the school year birthday. Aside from that, her week was also busy with shopping and packing for the Woodcreek JH Mission trip to Wyoming. We dropped her off at the church early this morning with prayers and hugs and cheerful goodbyes. She's been so looking forward to this trip and I'm sure that she and the rest of the kids will be blessed by this experience.
Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Scott and myself all participated in the Taylor P. Storch volleyball tournament, benefiting Taylors Gift Foundation, this weekend too. The girls played with two friends from school, Shelby and Ryann and Scott and I played with our good friends and neighbors, Brett and Shawn. The girls were a bit challenged by the game format, finding that there was a lot of area to cover for just four of them, but all in all, I think they had a good time. Our team wasn't quite so successful either, but as my friend Shawn posted, "It was mucho funno."
A for Garrett, although he wasn't too excited about hanging out at the volleyball tournament all day at the start, I think he ended up having a pretty good time hanging out with his buddy Josh. They found a group of boys to hang out with and figured out some kind of game to play on the open courts. In the end, no complaints.
